DULLES, VA---American Security Programs, a leading security firm providing security services, training, investigative services, and security consulting to government and commercial clients in the Washington metropolitan area, announces the appointment of Jeffrey R. Roehm as Vice President For Protective Operations. Mr. Roehm will lead the operations and training divisions of American Security Programs.

Mr. Roehm recently retired as the Deputy Assistant Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), after a distinguished 27-year career. At the time of his retirement, Mr. Roehm had executive oversight of ATF’s Office of Professional Responsibility and Security Operations (OPRSO), which includes Internal Affairs, Personnel Security, Physical Security, Emergency Management, Executive Protection and Operational Security. Previously he served as the Special Agent in Charge of the ATF’s Boston and Washington Field Divisions. His service with ATF includes such highlights as overseeing the Washington area sniper investigation, for which Mr. Roehm received high praise from the law enforcement community, doubling the number of gun law investigations, increased monitoring of suppliers who furnish guns to District residents, and expanded local enforcement of gun laws. Mr. Roehm also served as the Chief, Public Information Division of ATF for two years. During his years with ATF he supervised and managed numerous undercover operations involving casinos and the activities of Sandinista guerillas.
After earning a Bachelors degree in criminology from the California State University in Fresno, Mr. Roehm joined the Clovis, California Police Department. Soon thereafter, he became an investigator for the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office, and in 1978 he joined the ATF in Los Angeles. A Vietnam veteran, Mr. Roehm served in the U.S. Navy before embarking on his career in law enforcement.
